The Business Analyst (BA) Horizons and Akeneo plays a critical role in the successful design, development, and deployment of an IT solution tailored to meet specific business needs. This professional collaborates closely with stakeholders from various departments and countries, understanding their unique requirements and translating them into actionable insights for the development team, while aiming to provide scalable functionality. The BA ensures that the platform aligns with business objectives, enhances operational efficiency, while keeping focus on standardization and scalability.

This role requires a deep understanding of business processes, industry’s best practices, and IT capabilities. The BA conducts in-depth requirement analysis, creates functional specifications, and works closely with developers to ensure the correct implementation of features. They also participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), helping to identify gaps and ensuring that the platform meets user expectations before full deployment.

Furthermore, the BA supports project management by monitoring project progress, mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment with the project timeline and budget. Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and an analytical mindset are key to bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions.

Beyond the initial implementation, the BA plays a vital role in continuous improvement, gathering user feedback and supporting enhancements to the platform. They provide training, documentation, and change management support to ensure seamless user adoption and long-term sustainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, workflows, and system functionalities.
  • Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements for the IT development team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including end-users, developers, and project managers, to ensure alignment of business and technical goals.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and brainstorming sessions to define system requirements and enhancements.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate system performance against business expectations.
  • Support change management, including training and documentation, to enhance platform adoption.
  • Monitor post-implementation performance and recommend improvements for future development cycles.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in IT or software development projects.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with business process modeling, requirements gathering techniques, and workflow documentation.
  • Proficiency in using business analysis tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and business challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
