As a Sr. Regional Environmental Manager EMEA, you provide plant-facing (reactive, proactive, and preventive) environmental support, including risk management, strategy development & implementation, and guidance for EHS functions within Europe, Middle East, and Africa. The Sr. Regional Environmental Manager EMEA will work in Breda and report to the Director EHS International.
What do you do?
- Participate in operations council meetings, capital project reviews, Velocity implementation meetings, EHS legal meetings, HR meetings, and other EHS-related meetings as identified by the Director of EHS International;
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support for the EHS management system across all Europe, ME, & Africa locations, fostering a proactive EHS culture. This includes transitional leadership, integration planning & implementation, and supporting corporate programs, policies, and procedures;
- Lead and support facilities and projects to ensure compliance with LW and host country EHS regulations;
- Support sustainable development goals at the local level as defined by corporate direction;
- Provide functional support, leadership, and guidance to facility-level EHS professionals and participate in the development and implementation of global EHS standards across all LW facilities in the region;
- Offer guidance on EHS and operational topics for expansion projects within the region;
- Collaborate with corporate and engineering resources to identify and mitigate EHS impacts from capital investments and R&M projects;
- Support the integration of LW global EHS systems and standards according to facility-specific plans.
What do you bring?
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science (Engineering, Biology, or Chemistry);
- Licensed Professional Engineer and/or BCSP certifications preferred, with Safety (CSP) or Industrial Hygiene (CIH) certifications advantageous;
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive EHS management experience in a multinational food manufacturing company;
- Fluency in Dutch and English;
- Expertise in environmental, health, & safety laws/regulations, including ISO standards, with experience in European, Middle Eastern, and African contexts;
- Ability to coordinate with international technical services for compliance, risk assessments, and mitigation;
- Experience in developing engineering scopes for equipment to meet compliance needs;
- Understanding of LW operations, values, and goals;
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing teams;
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
